Apart from the music, food is one of the most memorable things at a wedding. Seriously, everyone loves good wedding food. But, in the same vein, lackluster or unimaginative wedding food can leave everyone feeling, well, a bit down and maybe pulling a pitstop at the Waffle House on the way home.
Luckily for you, we’re here to help! There are a bunch of wedding food trends that are bound to be great in 2017, but we wanted to narrow it down to our top three. So, without further hesitation, here are three wedding food trends we think are great for this year:
Brunch
Seriously, who can say know to mimosas and French toast? We know we can’t. It may seem a bit casual, but that’s the idea. Instead of lemon chicken, why not embrace the Southern brunch and go chicken and waffles?
Brunch can bring back memories of a great Sunday and can instantly make everyone feel comfortable (and full) before hitting the dance floor. Also, waffles.
Small Bites
Instead of having everyone sit down and grab the energy they need for the party at one formal dinner, why not spread it out? Small bites throughout the event is a really awesome way to keep everyone fed.
One of the biggest trends is a late-night snack. Instead of everyone worrying about where the closest Waffle House is, why not feed them. The idea is to keep it casual and easy, both for you and everyone at the event.
Food Trucks
If you have enough outdoors space, why not bring a food truck, or two, in to handle your catering needs? Food trucks are really cool, plentiful in the city, and it’s a low-risk move. People can eat whenever they want and if you have more than one, they’ll have choices.
If you feel like people waiting in line for food truck food is not a solid idea, why not combine the truck with a DIY station. It could be anything from tacos to mashed potatoes to salad to sandwiches -- totally up to you.
So, don’t be afraid to get creative or take a casual approach to your food: it’s 2017 and the trend is, well, do what makes you happy!
A good way to make your guests happy, on top of giving them something great to eat, is to give them some awesome music to dance to. At Nice Entertainment, we’ve been providing entertainment in the form of wedding DJs and live bands for more than a decade (that’s a lot of wedding dinners). Give us a shout to see how we can help make your next event great!
