A lucky few have rounded out their shopping lists and are comfortably sitting back on the couch watching Cousin Eddie act a fool while the rest of us are left scrambling to grab a Christmas present for, well, basically everyone. If you’re like a large portion of the world, you may have some holes to fill in your holiday shopping list. We’re here to tell you not to worry.
If someone you love is going to be a bride-to-be soon, then shopping for a last minute Christmas present for them may be a bit tricky. Well, it doesn’t have to be. Feel free to use these ideas to, at the very least, check off that bride-to-be from your list.
You guessed it
Yes, this is obvious. It’s also been mentioned a few times in our blog previously, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not any less cool for those who get it. Of course we’re talking about a spa day. Planning a wedding can get a little stressful. If you add the holidays to the mix, well, coordinating a big celebration can be downright painful.
Trust us when we say that by giving your loved one a spa day or a massage, you’ll be giving them the best gift: sanity. They’ll also be more fun to be around if they’re not all uptight, so it’s a win-win.
Pro tip: if you’re not sure what spa they’d prefer to go to, ask. If you’re not sure what package they’d like, then grab a gift card -- it’s not lame when it’s a spa.
Type it Out
We know this may seem a little weird, but a typewriter is a really cool gift that we think a bride-to-be (or even groom-to-be) would be pumped about. Not only do typewriters look really awesome in a new house or apartment, but they can also serve a practical function.
As a bride-to-be, they’re loaded up with countless thank you cards to write. That can do a number on a writing hand. With a typewriter, a thank you note can be written with the same personal touch and can save some serious hand cramping. Who knows, maybe you’ll spark a newly found passion for writing.
Pro tip: give them a copy of Rainer Maria Rilke’s “Letters to a Young Poet” for writing inspiration.
Speaking of Thank You Letters
Seriously, the bride-to-be in your circle will be writing an infinite amount of thank you cards and anything you can do to make that process easier or more fun will be life-saving for them. Think about personalized stamps or stationery that will not only save them time in addressing letters, but is a super neat touch.
As a side note, personalized stamps are kind of cool anyway. You could personalize a stamp for them with their wedding date on it or names or an inside joke. They could use the stamp for house parties to stamp napkins, name cards, whatever.
Pro tip: keep it simple.
